Watching my wife sleep, so peaceful and beautiful.
Having my wife and kids saying I love you, my family didn't do that.
Secretly paying for a veterans meal.
Seeing the hunting cabin full of tired hungry hunters.
Pulling into Pine Acres Bear camp in Ontario.
Seeing the hint of a black bear coming in.
Hearing death moans.
The smile on the grand-kids faces when they have a successful hunt.
Hearing my grandson state: That is beautiful as we watch the sunrise from the stand.
Hearing an arrow hit home.
The smell of spent powder.

Hearing kids laugh as they play.
A hit that dang near pulls the rod out of your hands.
Picking garden produce for supper.
Campfire smoke.

The threshold hum of my gpx4500.
The sound of a wide disseminated signal
The silence of a power outage

Thanks for the note, west 151. Everything I put on this website is an attempt to educate, not pontificate or preach.
As trappers, I believe the better informed or educated we are, the longer we'll be trapping. I hope that's many, many years in the future. I try to learn a bit as well with every post.

Sound of the evening whipowill. Smell of a cedar log on an open fire.

Savell you get into the wife's cooler? That don't look like your regular unleaded stuff.

Some individuals use statistics as a drunk man uses lamp-posts — for support rather than for illumination.

Eating ripe berries right off the tree or bush is pretty pleasurable too.

First sip of coffee in the morning

The feeling of your sleeping bag as it warms after you first crawl in

The perfect cast to a rising trout

The first glimpse of a shed elk antler as you hike in the spring

The sound of rain on a tent

Conversations with my children
