I'm going to try using air layering pods for the first time, later today. I should be able to clone all of my fruit trees, bushes and vines with them. The clones should be able to produce adequate roots to be self sufficent, when removed from the mother plant in 3 to 4 weeks.

To use them, you girdle a small branch with a knife, just below a leaf node, in two places about 3/4'' apart. You then peel the bark, between the cuts and scrape off all the cambium, exposing white wood. You put auxin, a rooting hormone, on the bare wood and leaf bud. You fill the air layering ball with moist spaghnum moss and press it closed over the leaf node and cut.

The success rate of the cloning is supposed to be very good, as long as the moss stays wet.

I am going to clone apple, pear, peach, apricot, nectarine , plum, sour cherry and prickly ash to start.

People are paying decent money for prickly ash trees, seeds, bark and tinctures. In my area it's uncommon. I've got two prickly ashes and didn't know what they were until last week. The homesteading and natural medicine people are into prickly ash.

There are thousands of acres of prickly ash here, its a huge pain in the rear, I've started eradicating it from the property, come get all you want, bring a Semi.

Prickly ash seeds online often sell for $1.00 to $2.00 each. Walmart sells prickly ash seeds for $11.98 for 25 seeds.
