I want to try my hand and some hand crafted mittens. I have a question though….is it possible to line the inside with fur instead of fleece?

It make sense to me that beaver on the outside will make the mittens somewhat water repellant but putting something like coon fur for the lining will make them extremely warm.

Thoughts? Any one tried this? Good or bad idea?

Fur on the inside will soon flatten down and not be warm anymore. Also is fairly slippy on the hands.
The best linings (and also traditional for hundreds of years)for moosehide mitts with or without beaver backing is heavy wool duffle(hudson bay blanket)
