Not in catalog or able to bid on it.

Could mean one of several things. I’ve seen it before. You will get paid for it when/if a similar lot sells

walleyed has 2 skunk pelts on his Lotting Letter with that verbiage
and no lot numbers & no grades listed for them.

Never ever seen that from FHA, and we've been shipping to North Bay
since 1977 back when it was the Ontario Trapper's Association Auction.

Strange.

Maybe those two pelts are part of a special lot reserved for a certain buyer ?

Not sure what FH does. NAFA used to pull pelts to use at conventions and other places for demonstration or contests. Those pelts had an associated sale lot number and when that lot sold, the trapper got paid that price.

"Tag graded but not in catalogue yet" means exactly that, they have graded the fur but it has not been put into a sale catalogue.

Usually means they did not have enough pelts of that grade to make up a lot, They did not get it in time to be put into the sales catalogue or the sales catalogue is not complete yet.

in my experience 75 percent of the time it means your fur is not being offered at this sale but will be on the next one.

My experience when this happens your skin is graded and lotted but the lot# does not show up in the sales catalogue. The below muskrats where graded and lotted, but where not in the sales catalogue and not offered on the sale. After the sale the sold price was added, May 2023 sale.

Good luck wissmiss! I suspect you're buying for what you will offer retail; next year and this year's trade goods are already in stores?

I just found a good outlet for at least dried pheasant wings in an artist in the Black Hills that makes some whoppers of earrings. This is go time for her. She told me she just sold 75 pair last week (I suspect to a retailer). It was fun to look at some her photos of her earrings but I really don't understand how people can dangle that much stuff from their ear lopes wink

Very little on line bidding. But no surprise. Now that people can travel to Canada, most all the buyers go to North Bay in person.

But not to panic. There will be plenty of action in the auction especially on items that are in demand. Coyotes will struggle. Raccoon will sell ok but prices won’t be great.

Wouldn’t surprise me if on line bidding goes away. Lots of work goes into that bidding format with not much use. Will suck for me but that’s life. frown

Looking at my grades I'm very pleased. I had what I'd call a very ho hum batch of fur, but I see I have a bunch of selects. Hopefully they sell well...

From what I can see according to my account Lotting Letter,
FHA didn't do any grading of my skunks at all this go-around.

ALL my skunks were thrown into the same grade & lot,
plus the two that were allegedly graded but were not Lotted.

No way in (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman)
that all those skunks were in the same exact grade
as they all had different sizes, stripe widths & lengths,
& primeness.

In addition, FHA shouldn't be holding those two un-cataloged skunks
back for the next auction, as they were shipped in a timely fashion
& made the last receiving date.

There's always some kind of screw-up with FHA's modus operandi,
and this latest auction is no exception.

Fur Harvesters is getting lazy with the lack of pictures this time around. A bunch of badgers this sale and zero pics. Asked Ruth about the lack of pics and she said this is all we get. Sorry but I am not buying ANYTHING without a picture. I totally under that certain species that are sold leather out but long haired furs should have a pic, especially the hot selling items like badgers. Really dumb.

No problems logging on to my account here.

I heard some have had some trouble logging in via their phones,
but I am logging in from my computer via cable/WiFi pathway.

Oley - I agree 100% about the lack of pictures. Badger pics are important. Also on the dressed fur. Makes it almost impossible to bid on anything on line. Sort of a crap shoot.

In FH defense - taking those pics is time consuming, etc. And with more buyers attending in person, us on line bidders are fewer in number. They might figure it isn’t worth the effort. Which sucks as I am physically unable to attend the sales in person.

i think if they would put in alittle more effort they would get alot more buyers and better prices paid. tens of thousands of cattle are sold by real time bidding by video ( not photos) every week with great sucess. F.H.A. are trying to run the auction with stone age technology! but maybe the bigger buyers that have fur there or the attending global buyer would not welccome that competition. seems they have alot of unexplained private tready deals! just speculation on my part as i am not in the know. hoping everyone has a great sale.

Yup, that’s it. I got caught up in the otter collusion deal years ago when FH was selling in Seattle. <wink, wink>
