Price and quanity of the pelt determines how they sell it.Of course if they were selling muskrats at $500 a skin they would have to figure something else out.But we are not there yet. grin

Too much minutia involved in trapping & handling weasels.

Plus they don't pay near enough to even bother with them.

I'll leave the high dollar weasel trapping to BOCO !!! laugh

Bob funny story about red squirrels not weasels. I had a good run of fisher/grey fox and Warren Crum always paid well on those two species. I went to Warren's with the fur plus 6 red squirrels from a nuisance job. He looked at the squirrels and laughed, I told him you don't get the fur unless you buy the squirrels. I came home with the squirrels.

After closely watching NYS In-country fur auctions since 2009,

I've seen absolutely no evidence that New York fur buyers have ever,
or will ever, pay any reasonable money for put-up weasels.

The odd whole, frozen, on-the-carcass ermine might bring $5.00
from the taxidermy market but usually not even that.

The lone exception I've seen was a huge, put-up, winter Long-Tail weasel
that I sold at the Mannsville, N.Y. for $12.00 and that was a fluke !!! laugh

They’re hanging onto some beaver. I’d rather hang onto them until next March than PTing them though. My pale otter did good.

Try a computer instead of a phone. My phone has had no access for days now. Computer and I’m good. Who knows why.
