There are a lot of trinket buyers already at FH. Or buyers that cater to the trinket trade. The problem, in many cases, is lot size. Like this time - what trinket buyer wants 150 skunks.

FH is sort of between a rock and a hard place - small lots and auctions that drag on forever OR larger lots (faster auctions) and small buyers being priced out.

I remember back in the 1980s when I first started going to NAFA - this before the Chinese entered the fur trade and fur was in fashion in Europe - everything was sold in small lots (at least on wild fur). Raccoon alone was one (1) catalog that took a full day to sell!

Wallfur - no disrespect but I don’t think you’ve ever really listened to a large string lot being sold in the auction room. It isn’t as simple as you make it sound. Sometimes even the auctioneer gets confused.

I've got no dog in the fight, but it does seem that the on-line part of it could be figured out and executed well. Everything else in the world is successfully auctioned on-line.

I was disappointed with the lack of pictures for this sale, because I had an operation a couple weeks ago therefore I can't be there for the sale.

Yes string lots get confusing in the auction room, the march sale was my first in house sale and I seen it first hand and will need a better explanation for furthere auctions if I want just 1 lot out of a string and not be charged for multiple lots in a string.

Lots of competition on the wolves, even the Section III. Lunch break after the wolves. Then the fun starts, at least for me.

I’m very happy with what I got for my wolf I sent in. Graded III, and got $78US for it. Didn’t have very good fur and I ripped its top lip up past the side of its nose trying to get it off the stretching board.

I’ll send in more wolves next year. Better ones of course!

Is this for the lot or per piece in the lot?

Prices are per skin throughout the auction.
I believe wolverine(and other taxi species) are sold one skin at a time, occasionally two.

Only my second year following this auction but it seemed like wolfs sold for a long time. Were they selling per lot or individually? Seemed like prices were pretty good regardless. Hopefully some happy trappers. I have some beavers for tomorrow. Can't wait!!

Wolves sell individually. Takes a while to sell 500 one at a time, especially when there is competition.
