I like Schrade (Uncle Henry and Old Timer). Easy to sharpen, carbon steel.

The old case knifes had a choice called tool steel. Much better than the shiny blades they sell now IMO

This was my granddads old kabar. Not the marine knife, a different style. Can see its been sharpened some. No clue how many deer elk bear and lions he used it on. A bunch.

This case is an inch or so bigger than the last one I posted.

Classic knives. Most likely carbon steel. Both been used and taken care of. Thanks for the post

That's what I like. Antiques should look antique. Antiques without use, have no character, teach you little and might as well be modern reproductions.

I bought a new Queen Steel 77 for myself from a local hardware store probably in the mid 70s. Used it for skinning deer and liked it. Bought two more new ones to have for my boys before the store went out of business. Looked and looked for them after that locally with no luck. But when Ebay came along, I bought up a bunch of them in various condition from brand new to used and abused. Not really a collector but we have enough for the grand kids and their kids,

Queen is probably one of my favorites. I bought a 70’s folding queen hunter off an auction this week. I love the white/black bone. Dad used to always carry a queen pocket knife.
