Thanks Beav that was what I was thinking is cable clamps. As long as they stay tight so they can't move.

This works good when you can't weld.

When I was using metal rods, I got the idea from you some years ago to add a second cable loop down the rod from the original anchor point. Keeps the rod from pivoting if it comes loose from the bottom in the deep end. That was good advice and worked for me on several occasions.


My new car has a button for pretty much everything. Even has one that says rear wiper. Still too afraid to try that one.

I just watched a J3 video on their products. They look good. I also think adding another loop on the end to double stake the rod is a good idea. I also would worry about the rob pivoting. Some lake bottoms are gravel and it would hard to sink the bottom end far enough into the lake bottoms to keep the rod from coming out. A lot of great info guys thanks!!
