I bought 3 dozen Lil grizz traps off trap shed for $300 First off are they good traps?? I don't care as long as they catch and is $300 good for 3 dozen I currently have like a dozen Duke dps and caught lots of coons are the grizz traps good/better than duke?? I'm a little skeptical about thr staking system but if they catch I'm happy. Still need to buy my k9 traps and hope I catch any canine weather if that's a gray fox or a bobcat idc as long as I get one this season I will be blessed. I gonna try to get 75 coon this season.

Griz traps are higher quality than most dp’s they are USA made and the staking set up works just fine. Good luck young man! Ok

I'm a little skeptical about the staking system but if they catch I'm happy. Yes, the "stake" setup looks a bit sketchy but they work fine if used properly. Push the "stake" into the soft earth, nearly to the base of the tube, and then twist it about 45* degrees which locks both sides of the "stake" wires in place in the ground to stabilize the DP. w

The Lil Grizz DP trap was considered The Cadillac of DP traps when they 1st hit the market.....American Made & of Top Quality materials & design. They held that top position until Carlis Stevens introduced the Innovative COON DAGGER Dog Proof design. I'd venture to say that Lil Grizz DP's are still in the Top Three for Dog Proofs !!! YES, Lil Grizz are definitely good traps !!! w

Good deal. You won't be begging for free traps anymore Shoot man, he’s getting a skinning machine and paying someone to use it, lol. I’m always leery of these “kids” that join and start posting nonstop. I don’t even remember what happened to the last one that was on here. This one said he has a YouTube channel, so I’m curious if he’ll post it.

Stick the trap stake in at about a .45 deg angle, if the ground is too hard, rocky or frozen, they work just fine laying on the ground. Don't waste a lot of time/money on trap prep as the first Coon will polish it to fair thee well. Don't buy a trap setter as an old large size screwdriver or a plain bar works great.
Every kid needs a Dog and a Curmudgeon.

For some reason they have jumped up significant in price this year. Picked up NIB Grizz last year at Nationals for $120/dozen. You'll have to get used to the staking system it's a bit different, I carry an axe for hard soils; no problem in soft soils if using the technique outlined above.

I remember in the 7th grade my buddy and I were planning on going to Brazil trapping for fur. I am sure we were boring our teacher to death when he finally told us if we wanted fur to go north. Sound advice for the time.
What in the world could two snotty nosed little kids been thinking. What silly dreams we had? Actually we was 15 or 20 yrs ahead of our time. It wasn't long before every old codger worth his salt had a cage in their garage with chinchillas in it on to their way of living a dream.
That same 7th grade teacher also told us that when he was coming back from France in WW2 that a high officer came over the radio with some orders. The officer receiving the call radioed back "Rodger Dodger". The guy on the radio said that was not fitting and wanted his name and rank, and that he was a Colonel. To which their officer responded, "Rodger Dodger you old Codger" I'm a Colonel too!
Possibly one of the things that may be lower than a trap thief is a dream thief.
