When the kids were young we would spend $50 and have fun. Now they are grown and live out of town the wife and I are in bed about the time it gets dark.

It was in the first sentence. Maybe $50 @ most but in not really sure because the wife is who buys them for the kids. So either I can say I spend about that because in paying for it or I can say zero because I don't buy them for myself or hand over the cash. Up to you.

I'm two miles due south of Atlanta Motor Speedway. I get free fireworks shows on the regular, why would I spend hard earned money just to burn it up.

Good deal I did think so either not sure what he was reading. Lol It's hard for me to know I'm just letting it go up in smoke but like someone already said on here it about the memories you make with the people you care about. In the end nothing else really matters anyway.

In Washington anything that goes bang or fly is illegal.....however go to any one of the dozens of Indian reservations and you can get anything you want. Probably 90% of the total 4th of July fireworks money is spent on the reservations. Little if any enforcement of State bans takes place.

Many military installations put on a good fireworks show. They often have all day events with many activies going on at the same time; culminating with the fireworks show. Below is a link to the Ft. Novosel activities. (There may be a couple if advertisments before the link opens)

Each of the kids gets a $30 budget, which gets them a sackfull. I get a few of my own, too.

About $2800 this year but it's a group effort. We have a full weekend lighting wicks, from ages 2 to 78 at camp so we have everything from snakes to cakes. 40 some people camping on private land in the woods just enjoying freedom and celebrating the nation, hanging out solving the world's problems, it just dosen't get better than that. Best 3 days of the year!
