I have never seen rabbit traps like that. They are pretty neat.

What country are they using those traps in? Those don't appear to be cottontail rabbits.

USA as far as I'm aware. Posted on FB and apparently rabbit running folk seem to like them for filling their pens over other things

looks like wire spools would be the ideal parts source for those

rabbits love to hide under stuff like trailers to hide from hawks that design gives the shelter they like with the food source but just a little too good to be true in the end when it drops and they are trapped.

would be interesting to try

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

It’d be some trick to get them in hand for eating. A rabbit box is easy to reach in and get them.

Looks like could adapt from a mouse or rat trap. Would be interesting to give a try. new to me as well.

Wonder on the trigger sensitivity with the weight involved. Be interesting to play around with.

I've got one I made for catching rabbits to train beagle puppies. Works better than the box traps I used in the past.

Very popular in beagle clubs across the country. Anyone with their own running pen or a member of a beagle club has used these at some point. If you ever dive into rabbit trapping you'll quickly see that the wooden box trap is ideal for winter trapping but they work very poorly in the summer. These cheese wheel traps are way better for summer trapping rabbits around gardens and orchards. The trigger stick is surprisingly very sensitive if done correctly.

Some videos on YouTube on how to make. Look simple enough. Have a ton of rabbits in the yard now. Won't be here time of season to give them ago.
