I'm in that process right now. Located 5 of the 7 my owners manual shows in the wiring diagrams. One is a flasher and one is a lamp timer. Of the other 3, the tractor starts with either of 2 of them removed, but with the 3rd one removed there is no solenoid action. Still looking for the missing 2.

Doesn't the "relay at starter" fix bypass all the safety features?

Yes - the starter relay upgrade by-passes all the safety features which in time corrode and cause a voltage drop. A company called HD Switch has a kit for less than $20 to your door - very good harness and relay. Cures the problem of click, click, click.

I got the HD Switch relay kit and will install it. The kit adds a relay that the output from the neutral start relay goes to instead of to the solenoid. When energized by the neutral start relay, the new kit relay closes and causes 12V from the battery to go directly to the solenoid instead of going thru all the safety switches and relays. The idea is that the weak output from the neutral start relay has no problem closing a relay but may struggle to energize a solenoid adequately. As such, the start signal still has to be generated by the neutral start relay so no safety features are bypassed. The kit is actually marketed for several other applications (mowers) that have the same issue. I do have to change one of the pigtail connectors to mate with my solenoid, and that part is on order.

Thanks for the help folks.

I changed the plug-in connector on the pigtail to match the feed to the solenoid, but otherwise this was an easy fix to install and works perfectly.

Perfect! I am a fan of blue tractors and haying equipment but any and all of them need some fixin every once in a while. My grandpa warned me long ago that if it has teats or tires, sooner or later it would become a problem. I have yet to find evidence of him being wrong.
