The rules does say one way or another about snares. I doubt they'd be to effective. I don't use hooks for turtles if I'm strictly after them, nets catch more and don't have to deal with by catch as much

I have snared a few snappers on purpose on paid control complaints in a small pond situation. Turtles were trap smart (they get that way quickly! pond owner had used coon cage traps). I placed carp chunk bait in a small stream just where it entered the pond and set snare between bait and pond. The thrill is getting the snare off his neck.

im using pork loin i think for my bait along with the bird breasts so i will let yall know if they work
