Are Wolf creek traps any good? A #3 is just like 12 dollars?!? And there coon foothold are 5 dollars a price! Are they any good? I will probably be buying there Diablo but are they any good either?

Yes, but with caveats.

As a "budget" trap they lack some of the fit and finish details of higher priced offerings. However the key features that make the Montgomery dogless or Northwoods dog on the best are there.

Namely the jaw edges are rough and can use some time with a file to smooth out. They use the L shaped springs on the levers. Some don't like them and they can make leveling the loose jaw difficult. Clipping them isn't difficult. Swivels and chain while serviceable can be upgraded.

Basically they are diamonds in the rough. The bones of a great trap are there if you're willing to knock off the rough edges.

I can't speak to the dog proofs or smaller footholds though.

I can’t say anything about wolf creek, but pay for a cheap traps and that’s what you get…..a bunch of cheap traps. Belisle vs Duke vs Bridger….ect. Spend your $ how you see fit. If you hate them, at least you didn’t break the bank.

That is one good thing I'm going to give them a try if they work that's great if they don't hold atleast I ain't breaking the bank like you said

I run the dog proofs for coon and they are good traps. I catch a lot - and I mean a lot - of coon for predator control. And the traps hold up great. Matter of fact, I am gonna buy another dozen or two for this fall.

I disagree. There's inexpensive and then there's cheap. Wolf Creek is inexpensive.

They have the solid bones of a good trap if not all the rough edges knocked off or bells and whistles of supposed value.

JMO, but wolf creek is the best Montgomery dogless clone on the market today, particularly since the rest of the trap is a northwoods clone. Only improvement I would ask for is to smooth them up to the same level as a bridger and upgrade the chain and swivels.

definitely a good trap for muskrat,mink or setting in high theft areas they may be a good starter trap for fox too they definitely dont look like good coyote traps by their pics on the website

Their #2 dogless regular jaw is my go to coyote trap. Tuned to four pounds they don't miss. If it's fired it's holding a coyote.

The feet won't be pretty if used stock but they'll be held. A bit of file work will make for better feet.
