The dollar's strength against other currencies is a real impediment to better fur prices too Yup!

Squirrels are a good start. When I started a few years ago I never planned on trapping muskrat. A fella at a local rendezvous said it can be a big money maker. Very easy to trap, cheap and quick n easy to put up. Years ago he’d hit his pond in the morning and in the evening on weekends and pick up 15-20 every time, so 30-40 rats a day. Put ‘em up when he got home. Then on to the next pond. Now, they just gotta sell…..lol. I don’t think Boco sends his dressed squirrel to auction, he’s got a market for all kinds of fur stuff. Check out his home tanning instructions. I use Tru Bond with satisfactory results but will try his method when the kit runs low. For me, anything that I want perfect goes to a tanner.

Hopefully people stop hating fur trappers and start loving That depends largely on YOU. Represent yourself well. Remember what I told you about character. And tell your little friend TrapperE not to say his hobbies are “killin coons” on his page…that is offensive and unnecessary. Always be respectful. You may not win people over to your cause, but you can have good reason to be proud
