Animals you really REALLY want to trap - coyote, muskrat, fox. I thought you were focused on raccoon?

Seems to me you like to “hear yourself talk”.

Why? Lol I didn't find any sign up there so I will go back up when it's fall and look for huts.

there isnt any rat huts around me but from my gmas house i bike around to ditches and look for rat runs and bank dens then i make note of them and get on my way. i found a very interesting spot where its right along the road and theres about 5 inches of water but the mud is very thick and its choked full of weeds but there is quite a bit of rat activity. all i can say is once you have the eye for rat sighn you can see it from a moving car (runs that is)

PETA is stupid.

That is no way to speak to a respected woman of this forum, young man. Except, no "young man" would act the way you are... you're behaving like a little punk who's behind need whipped by his Daddy's belt.

I tried to stick up for you because I remember what it was like to be as excited as you are, but these other guys might be right, you might be a lost cause. I'm not one to report a post, but I do hope Paul sees this and gives you a vacation to think about things for awhile.

Proudly banned from the NTA.

I read you bought a lot of DPs, so your coon traps are on hand, but you don't have traps for rats or mink. If it were me I would wait until September or early October and walk the pond. If there are rats there you will see better sign then. They don't even make many feed beds during the summer in our area. If you find runs or feed beds it will give you some idea of the number of rats the pond holds. Also the sign you see can help you determine which types of traps to buy for that pond. If ponds are deeper a lot of times the den entrances can start out further and be hard to find let alone set. If the shallow areas of the pond have decent cattail numbers you should have rats and they will leave plenty of sign.

Has the oringinal "Blah blah blah why's it matter?) post by the OP "disappeared," or am I just missing seeing it?

It's odd that it's gone, but all the quoted replies are still showing it. Maybe some don't realize that just because a post is deleted, it doesn't make responses disappear.  grin

I think it's time to consider activating the ignore feature.
