It's odd that it's gone, but all the quoted replies are still showing it. Maybe some don't realize that just because a post is deleted, it doesn't make responses disappear.  grin

I think it's time to consider activating the ignore feature.

Nah, he’s just a kid. We were all kids at one time. Some were just a bit longer ago than others.

Thats good that he removed it after he found out it was considered disrespectful by others.

It may be best to put some more thought into your plans, ideas etc. It is easier to respond and or or offer better advice when responding to a plan or thought process then to just offer ideas when we don't know much about your plans for the 650 acres, species and also how you plan to run your line. Most of us respond with our thoughts based on our experiences. If you are going to get jabbed at by some of us you may as well offer us something to respond to and you can then decide to modify your plans or ignore what we offer. One of the hardest things for me to learn was how to stay on task or stay organized as the season progressed. If you are a student, working and new to trapping you won't have nearly as much time as you may like to have and managing your time will be critical.

When you're scouting pond for rat and creeks also, wacth for caved in spots and dips and holes in the bank.
The runs will cave in over time pond dams can be a good spot. Also if the pond has a constant overflow it is more likely to to have rats. cattails and rushes are good. Rats also do well on duck weed.

I can't comment on muskrats in the ponds as you have nothink to look at. If there isn't a bunch of cattails present, I think it fair to say that there may not be a large volume of rats present. Mink will be running the water's edges if there is food to be had.

From the deer, you don't have a large predator population, based on the picture ... there is very little eaten on the carcass. At this time of year, every mommy wound be bringing their young to that site.

No idea what's going on in this video other than that I'm 100% sure one of those creatures are on wetdog's trail cam pics.

Times have surely changed, for the better I'm not totally for sure. In old days for kid diseases the first line of defense was to feed a cold and starve a fever. My mom always had different remedies for different aches and pains. Perhaps one problem she stumbled over most (no pun intended) was my dads stinky feet. The problem with stinky feet is they follow you every place you go. Now my dad always had to have tight high topped leather work boots and his feet couldn't get no air. Feet have to breathe too you know! Well my mom had all she could take. She was ready to resort to a remedy she had got from her mother and she got it from her mother. The remedy was to take the ashes from a red heifer and mix them with water and sprinkle those stinky feet. Sometimes a good soaking might be in order. Well my dad had a picture perfect red heifer and he just couldn't fathom turning her into ashes, so he was willing to consider other suggestions to alleviate the problem.
One of my sisters suggested he wash his feet twice a day and put on clean socks each time. Another sister suggested he get some new shoes that would let his feet breathe. After a couple weeks of my sister suggestions his feet did became bearable for us all.

One small problem was that with those shoes that breathed in they also breathed out. Out in public there was that small, minuscule yet distinct smell that people just couldn't place what it was. When mom found out that those shoes was breathing out she just laughed and reasoned that good and bad things are a lot like volunteer work. If its enjoyable then it should be passed around and if its not so enjoyable then it should be passed around too !
