In 1999 I remodeled the oldest commercial structure in town that was 2 floors high......
There were Hidden rooms in the attic....
location was next to the original bar in town....

A friend of mine built a hose in a neighborhood with what seems to me to be overly restrictive covenants and regulations. I told him and his wife it was a bad idea and that they should just buy and build on some farmland. For the 17 or 18 years they have lived there, they both have complained to me a few times a year about the rules. They are smart people. I don't understand why they subjugated themselves to this, or why they continue to stay and put up with it.

They can only have a small shed, in a specific location, painted the same as their house. They only had 2 choices of fence. They can't leave vehicles on their street. They can't have more than 2 vehicles in their drive way. They have to pay ever increasing fees for maintenance of public areas in the neighborhood. They can't be loud in their yard after or before a certain time. They can only mow their grass at certain times. There are restrictions on how they landscape. There are rules regarding watering their grass and runoff. They can't have a hot tub or pool. I would not live like that.
