Hey Nessy did you clip on a piece of thin cardboard to your bike frame with clothes pins to slap the spokes?

Boco...we were way cooler than that...

We used those long clown balloons....and tied one ,on each side of the front fork.

And when you started going forward...you gently shoved the balloons into the spokes.

Sounded like a Harley !!!!!!

Guilty, but we used baseball cards for our bikes. I probably destroyed cards that would be worth a mint now. I also used teh balloons to get that good "bluc, blub, blub" Harley sound.

Moosy ......I don't know about you...but I lived in Philly 1965 (4th) grade..I was the new kid in class...But at recess all the boys pitched cards against the brick wall. And come to find out...I was pretty good at it. Had shoe boxes full of winnings.

We played ..tops..which was taking turns flinging cards...and if you covered your buddies last card thrown...you won the whole pile.

All kinds of valuable cards ...that disappeared...lol.

Philly was the only school that I was in...that pitched cards.

I was a Navy brat...so I went to a lot of different schools .

In my days (late 50's, early 60's) I was more into comic books than cards. Pitching them against a brick wall (perceived gambling) would have just given the nuns yet another reason to pound me. That problem was solved when they kicked me out of St. Mary's after 7th Grade! Hah!

Used to play a game we called "stretch" with our pocket knifes as young boys. Last one standing won. The modern version would be called "twister " I think. Needed a good lawn to throw the knives into. Mom would yell "you be careful " I don't think that would go over to big nowadays. Lol

I remember those squirt guns. Were they called green lantern or something like that?
We also shot cards - we played topsies and standsies - a lot of valuable cards were wrecked playing those games!

Also played a flip card game ...where you flung cards against the wall ...and the first one to get a " Leaner" against

The wall...won all the cards on the ground.

Another game was to put a Leaner on the wall...and the first one to knock it down got all the cards.

There would be 5-6 kids playing that game...Tons Of Cards...!!!

Never saw a squirt gun like that, and at $40 bucks a pop, I'm glad!

They were probably .99 cents back in the day.

Which meant I had to mow 1/2 a lawn for it...

I remember taping Barry bonds, jose conseco tops cards onto my bike. Even if I'd have known, I still would have done it.

For me, that would have been 4 lawns, plus trimming.

Used to take my worm money down to Bamfords store and buy a big bag of white beans and a plastic pea shooter.and wreak havoc on all my buddies.
I can still taste the plastic burning my tongue
If I felt like splurging I would buy a little balsa wood plane in a bag and if I felt like really splurging I would get the one with the plastic propeller and the rubber band.
