IF AND THAT IS IF the cop not engaging the shooter all he had to do was fire his weapon into the ground (or air ) and would have stopped it. The second the shot went off the shooters location would have been spotted and trump would have been evacuated. Before the haters start about shooting in the air bet there is 3 families I know of wish there had been a warning shot! Took their chances at a better outcome
Those that say he was using a suppressor stop. His position would have not been seen so fast if not for sound. That’s all the mic picked up.
I'm not sure I'm following what your trying to say. Are you saying if he was using a suppressor they would not have found him because of the lack of sound?

Not as fast. He didn’t have a suppressor. Pops too loud over cell phone videos. Why do people use a suppressor? Certainly not for the compact size lol To be undetected If we ever take the kids deer hunting you can experience first hand how well you can hear a deer shot with a suppressed rifle 500 yards away. Or you can come over any day I'm home and shoot with some and get real life experience. The sound is different so when hunting even if I'm 500 yards away from one son sitting with the other hunting I automatically know yep that shot was my son and we have one down and start packing up I don't have to wait for the txt to tell me he shot one. I don't go by what I think or been told and TV. But actually experience. Basically yes you will clearly hear the shot. It is just minus the muzzle blast. And 5.56 from an AR platform sucks supresed. As does 300 black out with suppers 20 rounds with the black out my ears are ringing. Again personal experience not something. I just think because of tv.

Funny, when I was shot, the thought of banning guns never entered my mind. I don’t know why people would think that would be the first thought. Indoctrination and rhetoric(“gun violence”)works well with some…

I still wear hearing protection shooting supers suppressed. It's just less loud. There are other benefits too. Many of my rifles are suppressed with dedicated cans. That includes long range bolt guns. I disagree a bit on 556 from an AR sucking suppressed. It's not great but it's the only way I shoot my ARs--which are tuned for suppressed shooting. But yes the gas and blowback is an issue.

BC My point about supressed ARs is they flat out suck in comparison to bolt guns. It's the ejection port noise. I can soot the bolt guns without ears all day and have no discomfort. Now that doesn't mean it's not causing damage but they are like shooting a .22 lr or .22 mag.
Anyone want to argue the point I not only have experience but the metered sound data to back up what I'm saying with 3 calibrated Mike's. One at 1 meter left of the muzzle and one Mike at shooters left and right ear. All the data is open source on NFA Talk and I used to host metering sessions here on my farm. I was agreeing with you (with some further detail). Suppressing ARs in 556 is in fact a challenge. Despite what some of the folks on Tman think, it is not like the movies. Still loud--just less loud but still better than not suppressed. Now my tuned 300 BLK ARs and 9MM ARs are pretty dang quiet shooting subs suppressed. But I wouldn't be shooting subs at something 150 yards away. Whatever. Let's wait to debate suppressors until we find out if the gun the kid lifted from his dad was suppressed. I doubt it at this point because the media and politicians would have jumped all over it. But the audio did sound like a suppressed 556--which we have already covered.

A suppressed 5.56 is still loud. I need hearing protection.
Just about every gun/ammo with supersonic velocity ammo is gonna be louder than expected even suppressed.
The "Hollywood movie" whisper is not realistic, except with a good quality suppressor and subsonic ammo.
I'm not familiar with any subsonic 5.56 ammo...it won't cycle the semi-auto actions efficiently.

Huh….
I have to ask what it with the gal and the group hug. Seems like a targeted individual in that situation would have been quickly moved towards safety. Not showing a fight gesture. Kinda seems like professional wrasling theatrics….. SMH Just what is a body guard going to do? Protect their boss with their body?" DUH! I would say move, not hunker in a mass of useless meat….

If all the officer had above roofline, was his head basically I can see him letting go.
The people on the ground were taking video of the guy on the roof.
Hard to tell what actually transpired and in what order.
Another witness saw guy cross from one building to another, so maybe interaction with cop occurred on first building?
If officer was doing essentially a chin up, to pull himself up to look on roof. Then it'd probably be difficult to hang on with one arm and draw and fire with the other.

True but easy to back away from the building until you can see him on the roof and get a shot. If he could bee seen on video he can be seen to be shot. It sure is easy for me to armchair quarter back it with a lot of guessing on the situation. So tell all the accurate info comes out if it ever does I will try to keep an open mind and not mak le judgments.

10 4 bc. If I host another suppressor metering event I will post an open invitation on here. Distance will probably be a big problem for most though. There are usually two hosted in Georgia one is at red hill range. May be something Swamp would want to attend? I never make it down because the spring has been during youth turkey and fall indiana youth deer. I'd like to learn more. Red Hill range is still about 5 or so hours from me...

I would say move, not hunker in a mass of useless meat…. Get the protectee covered and off the X immediately. Triage on the way to a secure location. Do not engage the threat. Leave that to the other teams. The initial attack may be a diversion to set an ambush by a second shooter or to pin down the protective detail. Movement is safety when getting off the X.

Do you suppose Trump knows he was set up and it was an intentional security breach? Will he trust the alphabet agencies anymore or provide his own security?
Life ain't supposed to be easy.
