Regarding all of the conspiracy nonsense:

Why in the heck would the participants in this conspiracy pick that kid? That was a chip shot for an actually trained shooter. Why wouldn't they pick someone who can shoot and make it?

Why in the heck would they arm him with an AR? A bolt gun with a fast projectile could have zipped through his vest--assuming he was wearing one. One shot. No head shot needed.

I can hit that range all day long repeatedly--but not on a hot roof, with distractions, with impending law enforcement about to descend on me, at a human (and a famous political figure),and with presumably the equivalent of some Palmetto State POS rifle.

It looks like LE dropped the ball on security. Some things in life are still simple.

But I just watched and listened to video on the news again, as DT grabbed his ear. First three shots fired in about 2.5 to 3 seconds then pause.

You guys are thinking about targets on ranges that don't move. Trump turning his head as the trigger broke turned a good shot into a bad shot.....

Another argument is there is a difference between planning it and knowing it going to happen and standing down for the sake of argument

Shooter's rifle doesn't appear to be a bump stock...and appears to have an Aimpoint, Vortex, Truglo, or Eotech-type dot sight on it. Very little magnification there....but at 130+/- yds...didn’t need much. It's hard to tell, but there may be a magnifier on it.

Probably waiting till they killed trump then take out the shooter. Luckily he missed the first shot. Unfortunately a man still died needlessly.

Just say it was planned (not saying it was) but as u stated that was a chip shot for a skilled shooter (so they assume he cant miss). So go with a 223 with varmint bullets and head shot just to be nice and not hurt anyone else, a larger caliber with a bullet that is going penatrate vest is likely going get someone else. Give him a cheap ar setup to make it look "unprofessional" that way you have a lawyer in OK thinking it's just some loose cannon acting on his own.

Only think that went wrong is Trump turning his head at the perfect time. Otherwise plan would have worked perfectly.

You say it was destined to fail but keep in mind as you stated that was a chip shot for someone with some skill even with an AR. The rest is just windows dressing to make it look like a lone nut job.

In my non-law enforcement opinion, LE dropping the ball is the relevant issue. I can envision no world in which that kid was part a grand scheme and law enforcement ignored him for X number of minutes hoping he would make the shot as part of some conspiracy to take out Trump.

Simple, people. Keep it simple.

The fact you can't envision it isn't the strongest argument counsel. Not saying it was planned but evil people are the same as other evil people throughout history and worst things have been done before.

BC I came to same conclusion immediately that the kid likely wasn't part of a plan but I do believe there's some in high places that wouldn't be disappointed if some nut job happened to get an opportunity. But if you were thinking on the next level the kid and weapon would be good window decoration but they would have had a better plan to get him.up there unnoticed and to stay unnoticed.
