I could see that. Hesitation wondering if that was local L.E. Whatever went wrong heads need to roll. At best that is a ridiculous level of incompetency.
Yes..Danny....that's correct.
I try to imagine if I was the counter sniper looking thru my scope at a guy on the roof of a building that I knew LE was inside. My 1st thought would be: what is that officer doing on that roof. Does he see something we don't? The time it took for radio comms after the initial confusion was all the shooter needed to scoot into position and fire.
After the shooter fired his weapon, the counter sniper knew and didn’t hesitate and neutralized the threat.
SS is responsible for the protection of the pres and former pres. It was their duty to ensure all bases were covered by proper pre-planning and coordination, including communications,......whether thru use of their own agents or the use of local LE.
The LE (I'm guessing local LE - city, county, state?) in and around that building that the shooter climbed up on should be hanging their heads in shame....and looking for another job.
Other than the 2 or 3 female SS agents that looked more scared/lost/confused than anyone on scene, it appeared that SS did a pretty good job. They covered DT best they could, moved him to vehicle as fast as DT allowed them to, and the SS snipers neutralized the threat quickly.
Somebody failed....bigtime...in coordination, communication, and security of that building perch!
