yes , often , nearly every post I look at
because of relevance of species , of weather , of terrain , of culture , of laws or of nationality.

All of this, plus hunting, fishing, gathering and gardening posts for which location is relevant. My heart speeds up at the first posts about morel mushrooms when they start to appear to our south. I then watch as the posts about finding them to get closer to where we live every spring. Then I get really excited!

You location may also be a reason someone may direct a question to you. I have had numerous people PM me to inquire about places they might visit or stay on their way through our area on a business trip or vacation.

Framing your posts with that sense of location makes them better in any of the aforementioned topics, and it also makes others' responses to you more appropriate as well.

So many reasons for your (at least general) location to be listed with your posts. Paul requires it for good reason.

Location is important to know how/if whatever the poster is talking about applies to me or my area.
