Who sells them? What brand do you suggest? How do they work? Does the alarm go off with a power failure or temperature rise in a freezer.

I have a freezer in my son's basement. Holds venison, seafood, and garden veggies. I there a Bluetooth model that will sound an alarm upstairs or to a cell phone?

51 years ago I was 14. We had a heck of a coon dog in Northern IL. 1st 10 days of season we had harvested 28 coons. All nice ones 20 pounds plus. Skinned them put them in freezer. The plug end was below the light switch in basement. Some how plug got knocked out off socket. 3 days later we could smell it. Dad and I were sick. Coons I think averaged 34.00 each for us that year. Sick , sick , sick. MD

Those built in freezer alarms only work if you have electricity
to the freezer.

Too many times i hear the cat or the dog done it. I have 3 freezers and no cats or dogs allowed. While I don't have them wired in direct I do have them all on different circuits. In my situation I would think a light coming on would be better than a buzzer, I assume that would be possible.

I do not have an alarm but I have the plug zip tied to the outlet and a radio plugged into the same outlet. It in my detached garage so every time I walk through I would notice if the radio wasn't playing there much be something wrong. This saved me once when I blew a breaker on an Aug afternoon.

The freezer in my fur shed has a built in alarm. But, like bowhunterks said, they only work if there is power to the freezer.

I bought one that sends a signal to an alarm you mount in the house but the shed is too far away and the signal won't reach the alarm.

Eh...wot?

I bought one off Amazon about a year and half ago. So far no issues. It is made for a fridge and freezer but you can change the temp alarm limits. I have one of the temp sensors in my deep freezer in the basement and the other in my fridge freezer up stairs. The display unit is magnetic and I have it stuck to the side of the fridge upstairs. It is able to get the signal from the downstairs freezer while upstairs, which is what I was worried about. You need to use lithium batteries to make sure it continues to work in the cold. If I recall they send some with the unit, otherwise you can buy the Energizer Lithiums. Still on the original batteries.
