What freedoms have you lost in the last 20 years? (Something you hv NO control over, you are legally not allowed to do that you could 20 years ago) Not saying there isn't any.... just curious Try buying cigarettes as a 20 year old adult. That changed in 2019.

Pafoxman, here are three:
I held a commercial turtle trapping license in Minnesota for decades, when the Democrats got control of the MN Legislature they banned turtle trapping, a regulated activity that had gone on since Minnesota became a state. Total ban, no biological justification. So I can't trap even one turtle anymore.
Schools are supposed to have local control, the same Legislature and the same Democrats that banned turtle trapping decided to ban any Indian nicknames that a school had. So the Sleepy Eye Indians, where I was in the graduating class of 1983 had to change their nickname at great expense. Never mind that no one complained, the Democrats in charge didn't care and forced the change. So much for local control of the school. So the Sleepy Eye Indians, which had been the school name for decades is not referred to by that name anymore.
My younger daughter is 19 years old, she goes to college and works two jobs. She is a waitress at a golf course, she can serve drinks all day long. After work by law, she cannot sit down in the bar with her coworkers and have a beer or mixed drink. When I was 19 I could go into any bar in Minnesota and order any drink I want. 18 is the age of majority, she should have any right a 21 year old has.
Steady erosion of rights driven by the Democrats, who hate their miserable lives and can't stand anyone else going out and living their own lives, working hard, being productive and being happy.
Here she could serve only canned alcoholic beverages. She couldn't touch the taps or pour anything out from liquor bottles.

Almost no way to know what you can’t do now that you could do then, until you go to do it. Schools are a good place to see a snapshot of this in real time. You hit it right on the head Gerald. The steady erosion, or incrementalism is the real enemy. Nobody has time to sweat the small stuff, or are afraid to look like a kook for speaking out against “little changes”. When you add up all the small things you realize your being given governed to death.

What kind of Constitution says; you are free to do anything, and then goes on to provide for lawmakers to get together every year and whittlle those rights down until nothing is left?
Man who mistake shillelagh for fairy wand; see pixie dust, also.

Freedom ain’t for everybody and this thread proves it This is true, actually. Forcibly removing the sheep from it's flock is it's own form of tyranny. Some sheep can't handle not being sheep.

Well at least there's some reasonable people on here. Some very logical posts. I'm not confused as to freedom vs rights. A post near the beginning said we have lost a lot of freedoms in the last 20 years. I said... name one. The only one that's been raised is the freedom to use foothold traps in some states. As far as the acid question.... I'll answer when you answer the question I posed to you first. Should your methhead neighbor that has 4 felonies be able to buy a gun to kill his spouse. Because you quoted a computer ( background check) as a loss of your personal freedom. A better question might be why is he out on the street with 4 felonies if he's still a danger?
