Try buying cigarettes as a 20 year old adult. That changed in 2019.

Pafoxman, here are three:

I held a commercial turtle trapping license in Minnesota for decades, when the Democrats got control of the MN Legislature they banned turtle trapping, a regulated activity that had gone on since Minnesota became a state. Total ban, no biological justification. So I can't trap even one turtle anymore.

Schools are supposed to have local control, the same Legislature and the same Democrats that banned turtle trapping decided to ban any Indian nicknames that a school had. So the Sleepy Eye Indians, where I was in the graduating class of 1983 had to change their nickname at great expense. Never mind that no one complained, the Democrats in charge didn't care and forced the change. So much for local control of the school. So the Sleepy Eye Indians, which had been the school name for decades is not referred to by that name anymore.

My younger daughter is 19 years old, she goes to college and works two jobs. She is a waitress at a golf course, she can serve drinks all day long. After work by law, she cannot sit down in the bar with her coworkers and have a beer or mixed drink. When I was 19 I could go into any bar in Minnesota and order any drink I want. 18 is the age of majority, she should have any right a 21 year old has.

Steady erosion of rights driven by the Democrats, who hate their miserable lives and can't stand anyone else going out and living their own lives, working hard, being productive and being happy.

Here she could serve only canned alcoholic beverages. She couldn't touch the taps or pour anything out from liquor bottles.

Almost no way to know what you can’t do now that you could do then, until you go to do it. Schools are a good place to see a snapshot of this in real time.

You hit it right on the head Gerald. The steady erosion, or incrementalism is the real enemy. Nobody has time to sweat the small stuff, or are afraid to look like a kook for speaking out against “little changes”. When you add up all the small things you realize your being given governed to death.

What kind of Constitution says; you are free to do anything, and then goes on to provide for lawmakers to get together every year and whittlle those rights down until nothing is left?

Here's one, Freedom of speech. The constitution protects freedom of speech, so everyone has the right to express their opinion. Just try that on most social media sites today and watch what happens if it does not align with what is deemed acceptable. You may even end up on an FBI watch list if you dare express your opinion about what your own kids are being taught at a school board meeting.

This is true, actually. Forcibly removing the sheep from it's flock is it's own form of tyranny. Some sheep can't handle not being sheep.

There are rules on this site, not laws or regulations. They are imposed by the owner of this site.

As far as the acid question.... I'll answer when you answer the question I posed to you first. Should your methhead neighbor that has 4 felonies be able to buy a gun to kill his spouse. Because you quoted a computer ( background check) as a loss of your personal freedom.

A better question might be why is he out on the street with 4 felonies if he's still a danger?

Good question. But after time served they let you out. They don't evaluate whether you're still a danger.

Much of what's been brought up (not all) is regulation that is put in place to solve a problem. We could go round in circles all day. I think most on here wouldn't want someone to have the "freedom" to drive while intoxicated and kill your son or daughter. I happen to think that the good ol USA is the best place to live and be free. I remember when Clinton got elected people saying "well, that's it, the country is gonna fall apart." Same for Obama and Biden. But here we are, we survived." You have to recognize that BOTH parties capitalize on fear. Some on here obviously swallow that hook line and sinker. And parlay it in every conversation. For example... do republicans REALLY want the border crisis fixed? Of course not! It's the talking point that could win them the election. If Biden as a lame duck does something to fix it it kills their chances of winning. Same with Dems... they're glad Roe/Wade got overturned, glad assault weapons are legal. It keeps the money rolling in. Look at the big picture.... winning an election is way more important than what is good or bad for the country. That's sad but it's the world today. And not many can recognize it for what it is.
Alright I'm done ranting.

Leave me, my money, my guns and my land alone. I will do the same for you.

You know the difference between an optimist and a pessimist? Optimist believes were in the next country on the world. The pessimist fears this is true.

B tvalk problems need to be solved. Let alone let the government be in charge of fixing them.

As for the border... The establishment in the both patties don't want it to stop. One side wants the new voters and to crash the system the other side just wants the cheap labor and talking point..

Things get worse with every party at least still nationally. It justs just the rate of decay that you want to vote for. The country manages to stop or at least slow down the worst impulses of the parties.Tget still usually get at least one bad idea through.
