Savell,
All those sawed off racks that you and I have "collected" over the years would make a nice chandelier or three.

I agree. Don't know why we save em. Don't mean much to anyone except the person that killed the buck. And to that person....the rack is mostly like an idol.

I gave away a large box of spikes, 3pts, 4pts, 6pts, etc to a friend of mine that makes ornaments from them, but I've kept all the "better racked" sets over the years.

Should've gave him all of them.

Yeah, thought about that many times. It's a BoxElder so it might have been an interesting burl.

swampgas chili and schmidt beer makes for a deadly combo

You have to remember that 1 out of 3 Democratic Voters is just as dumb as the other two.

I really enjoy looking at them on the wall. It brings back the hunt in full color with all the memories for me.

BUT....these things don't generate those feelings for anyone else....not even our children. They are not gonna hang them up in their homes when you die. Don't even kid yourself...it won't happen.

Maybe some of mine will end up in a BassPro shop or something where someone can see them.

No one else will care...trust me.

Maybe in your situation but when my dad passes me and my brother will take our picks and whatever his other grandkids don't want my daughter will take.

He gave her a javelina rug the other day, already on her wall

Your fortunate and blessed. My lifetime collection (kids aint got a big enough wall for all of it) will most likely end up in a landfill.

I think ALL men keep things or have things that are sentimental whether it’s a “stump” or an old dog collar. Heck, I’ve got a few rocks that I collected and can tell you in great detail where I was and what I was doing when I found them. It’s sorta crazy that a rock can illicit a memory from 40 years ago, yet I couldn’t tell you what I did at work 3 days ago.

Hey Swamp, just set your trophies out by the drive or even along the road. I think Smash has a sixth sense for roadkill stuff and she will down to get it, lol.

All those mounts will be trashed. I had a taxidermist friend of mine get lung cancer. Before he died he gave a lot of his stuff away. Whatever he didn't give away went into the trash after he died. I don't do mounts anymore, waste of money. Same thing will happen with all the military stuff I got over 38 years. Means nothing to anyone but me and my wife. She was with me for 35 of those years. For some reason she's still with me!

You think those mounts are trash ?. Put them on internet for sell. These rich city folk or even restaurants want things like that. You do know you can sell deer antlers. Sell the crap out anything you won't use and then spend the money. Only live once........

Ugly as it was, I left it. Over the years, it had become a place my dogs (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman) on every morning, a place I leaned my hoes/ rakes/ shovels against, put bird seed on and and even a few flower pots. have had a Walmart cheap solar light stuck in it for years. Have 4 great dogs buried close by.

Knowing some day, it would have to go.
Inspection this eve shown it was getting very rotten and was infested with ants.
Never thought I'd be sad to burn a tree stump but I'm typing this while drinking a beer and watching an old (buddy) dissappear. cry

That is a very unusual looking stump. I can see where you would hate to get rid of it. Bummer!

Wife: That's the 4th time you've gone back for dessert, doesn't that embarrass you? Me: No, I keep telling them it's for you.
