I'm hoping our travel isn't too bad tomorrow. Looks like we'll hit a band of rain in southern GA but then pretty clear travel into TN.

Just happy to be here.

Predicted rainfall for the week. I'm in the band of 4" green south of Atlanta. That green/yellow boundary down the west side is pretty much the Flint River. Albany better look out they might be looking at another flood. Got a retired LEO at church that worked the last hurricane that flooded Albany. He says they were picking coffins out of trees.

We got similar conditions this time.

Yep....slow moving. We have got 1.6" in 6 hours but it's gonna increase. Storm is only creeping along about 5mph.

We're about to saddle up here in a few minutes. Hopefully 75 is smooth running at least to Valdosta. We seemed to sit in a "trough" in the rotation here and the whole thing swirled around us with little to no wind.

Just happy to be here.

My sister in law and some of her family are on Hilton Head. They got there yesterday and are planning on staying. They're from Ohio and have never experienced a tropical storm. I think they're in for a real experience - lol.

Will only be at Ga-Fl line at 4pm today.

Looks like your timing will put you driving right thru the most intense part of it. Ya'll be careful. I'd probably go get a long breakfast and linger down south a little longer.

I worked the flood of 94 and again in 98, the coffins were from Riverside Cemetery not more than 2 blocks west of the river. they called the 94 flood the 500 year flood. the 98 flood did not cover as big an area as 94, but was real bad because people were just getting back in there homes. The water was bad, but there were other things that people had to deal with such as contaminated chemicals in the water. I hope I don't live long enough to see another like those two.

This one came in about 15 miles from where that one did last August. Not much of a difference in the overall path, but this one is creeping along.....hasn't moved 40 miles since 0700 this morning.

Up to 6" rain past 24 hrs and still raining hard. Winds not as powerful as last year but there has been a few attention-getting gusts.

We're just over 6" here...with the edge of those eyewall bands just now getting here.

Slydogx,
I'd hang back for a little while. The eyewall is just ahead of you and seems to be stalled right on top of I-75 and I-10 area. The winds here about 6 miles into Georgia have moderated some, but the rain is relentless. The storm appears to have nearly stopped its N/NE trek....it's just sitting over this same area.....hasn't moved in over 4 hours.

Savell,
I had my entire metal roof reinforced with longer screws. And the damaged siding replaced. Got all that done a few months back. This storm hasn't been as rough as last year's.

Definitely not the worse I've ever driven in, but no fun. Once we got through Tifton, things settled down significantly. We are at the Buc-ee's outside Macon, been looking at blue skies to the west of 75 for about a half hour now.
I hope everyone gets through with no trouble, that was a lot of rain! Still praying for you guys affected.

Just happy to be here.
