I would and could long line a mix bag of mink, coyote, fox, coon, bobcat, and fisher but I would have to quit my farm job.
So I'm wondering if I was to long line ALL season would it keep up to my job? I get like $40 a day for 4 days.
How much would I get a day? Doing this mixed bag? If it's even $5 less a day il do it.
This job causes me to not do lots of thing I want, like trapping super hard for example. Or tonight there is a barn yard games to chase pigs for money and I have to work. And I can't take off.
If it worth it il quit and do it. Il find something to do over the summer for money. Or maybe they will let me work during the summer.
Thanks.

So at 13 years how are you going to long line. My idea of long line is a minimum of 8 hours a day 6 days a week. What form of transportation do you intend on using to run your long line?

Thanks. Be hard to pay bills and longline expenses with most furs at rock bottom prices

I want to but it seems like I can't have a nice child hood. And you only live once. A butcher, a baker, and a candlestick maker. And now a longliner too. How long before you think of becoming a rodeo clown?

Only one fisher and cat in PA. Coon/$4, rats/$3, Fox/$10, coyotes/8$ Do the math, don't quit you day job. Hard time making $40/day on a walking line with your limited experience. The work does not stop when you get home, skinning, fleshing, stretching and other work. Yah I know. But I love trapping I don't look at it as a job! Complain about the adults who have you working a good job.
If you really want advice from a long liner, ask white17 what you need to do. He will surely tell you, with no coddling.
Keep running with that trap drag. Thanks sharon

I don't know why I'm bothering writing this, as I doubt you'll listen. This is what I would do, and wish I would have done when I was your age.
Keep your job and save every penny. Use what trapping supplies you already have, don't buy more. This winter run a small line as your time permits and focus on becoming a better trapper.
If you live in an area close to a town, or if your parents would be willing to drive you to town a few days a week next summer, start a lawn care business. Use some of the money from your job to buy a weedwhacker, and a good push mower. Look for clearance deals for those items this fall and winter at stores like Lowes, Home Depot, Walmart, etc. Then next summer, work TWO jobs... keep your milking job, and hang up flyers advertising your mowing business all over town. Mow every lawn you can all summer, and save all that money too. By the time you're old enough to drive, you should have enough money saved to buy a truck. Once you have your truck, you can expand your lawn care business to other towns and make even more money. Possibly consider buying a used plow for your truck and plow driveways before school and on weekends (by then, if you're managing your business right you should be able to quit the milking job).
Stay in school, and keep saving as much of your money as you can. Trap on school vacations and before or after school. Then, once you graduate from school, take a gap year. A gap year is a year in between graduating high school and starting college (if you're going to college). If you're careful with earning and saving your money between now and then, and your parents will allow you to live with them still, you should have no problem spending the entire trapping season trapping from dawn until dark. Maybe even consider an out of state trapping trip to a southern state once your season starts winding down up north.
I know you probably won't take this advice, but if you do, that year will most likely be the best year of your life.

Surely we have someone with access to the main account that can see who this really is, lol. Compare IP’s pr something. This has about run its course. I thought ( could be wrong though) Paul has mailed some stuff to help him out or yes I'd feel pretty confident we were being trolled too. Don't think Paul is in on this do u???? Maybe him and The Exocutioner are getting bored now that we don't have the politics Honestly I was leaning towards my neighbors to the West of me, like Texas. They like to play jokes!! But, you do bring up an excellent thought, those two have access to everything!
