I would think it would be real hard to set coon traps without fingers.

Light line, little or no weight, bait with sweet corn or night crawler and you should eventually catch a carp if they are there. Bow and arrow with fishing set up would work also.

One carp will yield a lot of bait. Chunk it, salt it and freeze in ziplocks. If your setting 10 traps, bag 10 pieces in a few bags and a few less for re makes. That will cut down on waist.
