I don’t know if it’s our population of cats, but they don’t seem to care if it’s a possum or coyote remake, they’ll check it out.
My first first check caught double I found a pile of bobcat scat 20yds from the closest caught coyote. Found his tracks where he walked up, took a dump, and walked back the way he came from. Remade both sets and the cat or another was caught the next check in the set 20yds from where the scat was.
Ours don’t care, curiosity definitely kills our cats. Doesn’t matter if you use footholds or cages down here, you’ll catch cats and it doesn’t matter what you catch before them either.
I guess it comes down to of who gets to the trap first.

I haven't caught but a few in a coyote remake, if I catch a cat in a coyote set thats in the open its usually a Tom. I catch coyotes in cat sets late, places you're not supposed to find a coyote foolin' around? I use a lot of blind trail sets never know who is gonna show kinda adds to the fun of surprise, like chirstmas

Man Savell, you have some purdy cats.
I’ve only picked up one cat after a coyote catch. But my trapping grounds don’t have a ton of cats so hard to say.
Following the threads you started, always interested in learning.

Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

We need to set an industry standard in what is considered a remake.

Is it still a remake two weeks later? Six weeks?

Ive caught WAY more bobcats in coyote remakes than I have coyotes in badger remakes!

… mixed responses in here

.. looks like population plays a role in a cat’s readiness to work a hot coyote remake

… and good point Boone.. how much time and weather ?
