I know very little about Musk and I have no idea how much if any of what I "know" is true. But I'm pretty sure the man can afford the best of the best training , does not say he can do things he can't, and he is successful and intelligent.

So just speculation on my part with what I "know" of the man.
#1 He has probably been training fighting disciplines for years decades with the best of the best.
#2 He has a realistic idea of his skill levels and abilities, has had his opponents abilities fully looked into and is very sure he can win.
#3. He has a plan and hopes to accomplish something winning this fight.

Maduro probably thought Soon Musk would back down or not reply to his challenge. Maduro probably won't fight. There's very little doubt Elon Musk would fight.
