Only one I’ll say is all five SEC teams in playoffs will be in same bracket. All sec championship hurts too many feelings. This the era of joy and unicorns

No 2 Put the sec in same bracket and they knock each other out of playoffs. Only way it won’t happen is if the genius minds realize that means oh crap that puts the 3 big 10 teams playing each other lol

Here is my understanding of how it works. 12 teams make the playoffs, top 4 seeds get a bye, the fifth seeded team plays the 12th seeded team, number 6 seed plays 11th seed, number 7 seed plays the 10th seed, number 8 seed plays the 9th seed. Round 2 the number 1 seed will play the highest seeded team and so forth. There is only one bracket, if your SEC teams play each other it is because of the seeding. So if the SEC has the top 4 seeds they could not play each other until the 3rd round.

Top 4 seeds get bye, most likely it would be the 4 conference champions, but it does not have to be.

No it’s in the new rules. Highest top 4 conference champ get bye. Lot of football before we get there.

My prediction is the conference swapping can't get any weirder. Is it now the PAC-2 and the Big 20?

If 5 SEC teams make the playoffs I guess your worst nightmare would be if four of them are seeded something like 5 and 12 and 6 and 11, then the 4 SEC teams would be playing each other the first week and the 5th team (Conference champion) would receive a bye.

First you have to get 5 SEC teams or more in the playoffs. Based on how 3 of them did the first week, it might not happen, lol.

All kidding aside, I am glad football season is finally here. I hope this is the year Penn State beats Ohio State.

The SEC beats themselves up too bad to have that many teams in the top 12. The only guarantee is the SEC Champion.

In many ways good to see a larger playoff with more than one game in the system. On the minus side it gives a lot more opportunity for judgement as to who gets to the ceremony.
Money is the real driver to create these large power conferences. Not all bad to have the west coast monies move into the midwest where most of the Big 10 schools are located. That Rutgers to LA road trip is a long one. That helps keep more tutors working for the players.

According to wiki there are 5 teams 2 full and 3 affiliates there was some that went to the big 12.
