Any where near me is both fisher and bobcat. Lots of state land. The fisher like the traditional conifer woods up hollows where you see squirrel cuttings. If ( andit has not happened in a long time) it gets cold for and amount of time both will head to lower lands where the coon used to be. I have not seen a dog in the woods or heard a beagle in YEARS. And recently have not even seen another trapper. Both animals do like being around people places, farms dumps and recently regrowth of logged areas. I am in 3B trap 2g and3a. They are not fox, don't get fancy iwth sets just get a lot out. two sets in each location and two traps at any place you see sign. The season is short. Hay good luck......jk

Not sure where you are located in Ohio, but you may want to look at WV instead. Lots of fisher and bobcat in my area Tucker County. Tons of National Forest. I’m giving a fisher demo at the WVTA convention next Friday 9/20 at noon.
If i wasn't working I'd totally go, cause the only info I have to go off of is reading online, and I don't really retain information like that super well. I'm gonna look into WV, because it would be cool to try to get a deer or bear in the morning, check traps in the afternoon. I've heard it's good trout fishing that way too
As far as bobcat goes I've been told you can't use any animal parts for flagging, does that include feathers? My current idea for cats is to pile some duck feathers on my dirthole or hang one from a tree above it. But I don't want to run a FOWL of the law... sorry couldn't help myself.
Big flashy dirt hole or any set with coyote urine catches bobcats in pa. I’ve never made a bobcat looking set and catch a few every year just using dirt holes or flat sets. Wide open areas that flashy stuff works but they are easily caught in your typical k9 sets. Between myself and two other buddies trapping each of us in completely different parts of state have to release several each season out of coyote sets. They have truly become more of a pain in the butt than something you get excited about anymore. Populations of them and prey animals I think would benefit from updating from one cat per season to two or 3 imo.
I can simplify. Leave BGs at home. Catch critters in paw hold traps.
Thay does simplify it. Rule 1 was it has to be in water, but the rest of the rules made it sound like they could be on land if done right. I've never heard of catching fishers in leg hold
There’s a book by Ralph Scherder and Rich Faler on Fisher Foothold methods. I’m not home now or I’d take a picture of it

I appreciate the explanation, I'll just use good Ole fashioned dirt holes. But if I get a wild hair, hanging a piece of tinsel from a tree is legal?

I agree with Hammer. As far as flagging, this works great...another tip I got from Hern.
