Also making gauntlet mittens for the wife and I. Muskrats get hooped for buckskinners. What is that? It is a bowcase/quiver combination, from the northern plains. They were often made from buckskin, but also furs such as otter, mountain lion and coyote. The picture shows it angled wrong, the left side should be higher, as that is the mouth end of the quiver. Here is an AJ Miller painting of a Sioux horse guard wearing a bowcase/quiver. ![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2024/09/full-13020-229384-sioux_horse_guard.png)

Trapp close to home and take my granddaughter of 8 years who wants to go trapping. So I'll probably set more coon, and rat sets than normal so she doesn't get to bored. She want to learn how to shoot so we'll take the 17 air rifle and have some safety lessons and plunk away on some aluminum cans. The normal predator maintenance near home, and target cats a little harder if the numbers are there. We will probably take the cast iron and fry up some fresh muskrat on the line. With some fry bread and potatoes. The kiddos seem to like that. I know I do.

I'll get my driving license end of October, so I'm planning to run a lot further this year. November - December, I'm fixin to to run a 40 mile loop and hit mostly dry land, (yote, coon, skunk, fisher, fox) then move to a 50 mile beaver/water line. it'd be profitable (I hope) if it'd work out.

my goal is 400 marten, 80 lynx, 10 wolves, 15 wolverine, 500 muskrats, 2 grizzlies. Ill skin all the fox and mink incidentals too. Lynx will be hit or miss as the cycle was low when we had 2 floods and still hasnt fully bounced back yet
