Placed my order today with Silencer Co for a Banish 223. I’m going to use their barrel threading service as well. I shot with a friend the other day that had the Banish 223 both my son and I were impressed. I never recommended a 223 can for a first can. A 30 is not much longer and has more versatility so you can run it on everything .30 and down. It no big deal you will be buying more anyway. Like potato chips you can't have just one.

Yeah, good analogy. I’m now wanting specific calibers, lol. I’ll throw the B30 on one of the 5.56’s and see what it sounds like. Just figured a specific suppressor for that caliber would be quieter. I’m pleased with the 30’s on my .308’s.

Silencer Co or Central? The fact you said Banish means central. Did you get the Speed K or actual Banish 223. Think I’ll wait and get your review of whichever one you get.Yeah I mistyped should have been Silencer Central. I’ve been around suppressors a fair bit. Not much of a rifle guy as I used to be so I went with the 223 mainly for my couple AR’s and then for my Remington 700 LTR 223 which is the one I’m getting threaded. I doubt I will suppress any of my larger guns unless I would buy a dedicated gun to suppress. 99% of my guns larger than 223 are pre-2000 or even pre-1990s so I doubt I will thread any of them.

Just another form for the gov to add to their database as to who has what come confiscation time. Sorry but the Gov does not need to know what or how much I have, hence reload and build yourself. Pay with cash no receipts.

Man I’m from the South, I don’t know a single person that doesn’t have guns, lol. I don’t live in a blue liberal city. I have a Sheriff that has already stated he would never allow the “Government” to come in and take anything. I’d hate to know I was scared of the government coming and taking anything I legally have. Heck, even anything illegal, lol. Unless you live way way off the grid, the government knows all about you. The fact you’re posting on here already tells me they know about you, lol. You can build, reload, pay in cash, or do anything else you think will keep you safe, but you’re just fooling yourself if you think they don’t already know.
Meanwhile, I’ll go on enjoying my guns, suppressors, and everything else while you cower in fear. Some of y’all really need to live a little and enjoy life.

Hoot buddy came over yesterday with a SD codified law section that said if you build a suppers or/gun in SD and if it stays in SD the federal laws don’t apply to ownership. He claims a friend of his was arrested and ATF reviewed the statute and that was the end of it.

basically it's like legal weed states. Legal in the state but still illegal Federally if the feds decide to arrest you they can and will. not worth rolling the dice on my freedom over $200 & a aggravation. legal fees and lost wages would be much mor expensive and more aggravation even if you win

An update on my process with Silencer Central. I purchased their barrel threading service when I purchased my suppressor. Door to door on the barrel threading service was roughly 2 weeks and they did an excellent job. The shipping process for the treading was very good. They shipped a box with soft case. I placed my stripped barreled action in the soft case and shipping box, dropped off at FedEx and two weeks later my threaded barrel returned.
For the rest of the suppressor process I will say that I wished that I would have worked with a local shop that could have obtained the same suppressor as they would have assisted in some of the red tape such as passport photo, finger prints, etc. I am currently at 3 weeks from order placement and they have all the required info from me now. I was a bit slow getting the fingerprint cards back to them so that is on me.
The nice part is, now that silencer central has you in their system, its a breeze the next time you want to purchase a suppressor. I think the only thing that needs updating is your photo after two years. Thats simple enough...send a selfie. I lucked out because when I was at the NTA in Sioux Falls, I just made a quick run over to their headquarters and was in and out in less than 30 minutes handling everything and payment...just waiting for delivery now.

A couple years ago a couple guys in I think Kansas tried to skirt the rules with the same argument and it ended very bad for them.

I think ultimately suppressors will be ruled as arms subject to Bruen and will be determined constitutional to keep and bear without licensing or registration. Aka bye bye GCA. Meanwhile, any attempt to use your local version is still in the same boat as medical whacky weed. Locally cool but federally uncool and you're at the mercy of whatever wild hair the gmen get that week.

Plus I like the fact you can log into their site and see the progression as it happens and know exactly where you are in the process.

At one time I felt like some I would go without before I asked permission to own a suppressor or concealed permit. Than one day I realized I was only punishing myself.
