Think it would be better a dark brown?
After oiling it will darken some but kinda think darker be better??
Dang game carrier is harder to make than I figured lol

NO black. It will chance running and stain.

A nice brown , not too dark will go well with the rest.

I always use copper rivets, the kind that you hammer the washers onto the stud. I think they are more appropriate to the look and stronger than the smaller kinds like you have there

Rub a walnut husk on it, then oil with neatsfoot oil.
