Smash… How would you react to your man telling you that you CAN’T do something? Not something that could get you hurt or is a bad judgement on your part, but you’ve made plans and he says NOPE, you ain’t going or lays a bad enough guilt trip on you that you give in.
I’m not disparaging my wife. We have common enough respect for each other and do enough stuff together that she simply wouldn’t do what I’ve described. Neither would I. Where did she say she did that to her husband? If she did, I missed it.
Just give me one thing, that I can hold on to. To believe in this livin' is just a hard way to go.

my wife just sent me a picture of a shirt. it Said may God watch out for young relationships during their first deer seasons. being we started dating at 16 she has always known October starts deer and it goes through December.
YET she did plan and schedule our weeding October 16th. I can't believe I went along with that. But she was right and the fall colors were in full swing and reflecting off the lake for even more effect made for great Pictures..
she never has said a word and knows my vacation will be schedule around hunting dates mostly youth hunts and trips for the kids the last decade. never a complaint out of her she knew who I was from day 1. she used to hunt with me but does not like the cold and stays home now. I think I probably concentrated on help keeping her warm more than on the hunt when we were younger and more on the hunt as we got older causing the lost intrest i. hunting. But the house is alway warm when I get home with hot food and drinks around other hot stuff waiting on me when I get home from a hunt.

I have never asked my wife for permission to do anything. If I want to go do something, I tell her and I do it.
Sometimes I’ll ask her if there’s any plans this weekend, incase I forgot about some event.
I show up for family gatherings and birthdays. I actually enjoy them!
If I have company over and we’re chatting in the entrance or in the garage and it’s late, my wife will never hound me to come to bed or be nagging about anything.
If I’m out fishing late, I never get a phone call demanding me home, ever!
From about October 15th-December 5th ish I will be hunting every single day.
And that’s just the way it is.
Cold as ice!

And I suspect gunnleg would consider you whipped for asking her if there are plans that weekend. myself I ask general as it's polite and I value my wifes thoughts and opinions as she respects mine. I would hope everyone in a relationship had the same respect for each other. It's not wiped just respect to your spouse the person you decided valuable enough to marry and commit your life to. asking if There are plans or something they would like to do together or if there is something I forgot about ( happens often) is necessary in a healthy relationship. if you don't valuable and respect your spouse why on earth marry them? my guess Is the men with the most bravado on line are the most likely to be a wiped simp in real life and can project their desire to be a what they think is a Dominant man on line. but I'm just spit balling.

I believe that being a simp is the underlying cause of a lot of divorce. Boys are being taught that masculinity is a bad thing. Things like toxic masculinity are tossed around a lot. Its unnatural. So a young woman finds a man that allows her to be the dominant partner. Both think its the way to a successful marriage. After a few years the woman loses respect for her husband and the man is frustrated trying to be what he is not. I am not talking about a man being a tyrant. Asking your wife if she has plans before you go out drift fishing all night is not being a simp its showing respect. In every relationship one person will be dominate. Its unnatural for a man not to assume that role. If he does not his wife will lose all respect for him. In most cases at least. Something like 90% of the time its the woman who files for divorce.
Those who would give up essential liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790)

My using ‘whipped’ might have been a poor choice and perhaps my rant to start this thread could’ve been written better. If you have plans with your wife, kids, family, God, you name it, good on you. If you have to change your plans because something family related came up, good on you. If you make plans with someone and cancel because your partner has guilted you out of going or if you have to ask permission (their words on more than one occasion) then I think something is wrong in your relationship.

My wife knows what I am and what I do. No "permission" is ever asked. I write a note or tell her what I'm doing. She does the same.

It’s about any scheduling conflicts not about permission.

Wife and I will be married 33 years at the end of this month. We dated for 5 years before that so we both knew what we were signing up for when we married.
She sometimes goes fishing with me but mostly sunbathed on the back deck unless the fishing is really good. She has killed several deer but mostly a fair weather hunter.
