thats good to hear if it will hold your monster flat heads, it will definitely hold my little channels.

I am really liking the looks of the 3 pack base , thinking run one of those right behind my gps/sonar to hold my 3 while under power they will be out of the way there. just have top watch those low bridges lost a rod tip that way before.

honestly the wife never runs more than one line but would probably like a place to set it down while reading n such as a slip bobber fisherwoman she does fairly well.

it's a little boat 14' as is my other boat , I learned more than 3 a person just is too much for little boats , run out of space too fast

thanks for the recommendations.

I got the Scotty's today have one mounted , deciding where to put the other one , I know where I want a second one , just thinking maybe I should put one up front for the wife till I buy more.

these are twice the rod holder the nock offs are , a lot more too them

they look a lot the same in an amazon picture but the difference is big in how much more sturdy they are the scotty's lock with a good click and go either direction.

yes they are plastic , the cheap one top has actually held up ok since 2021 when installed and worked ok

the Scotty is new also plastic but seems much better constructed

I got thinking , with 6-8 pound line maybe 10-12 , and the drag set , they really don't have that much tension on them

I don't do a lot of trolling , some for strip bass but not a lot.

Scotty does make a downrigger and all the kit to troll like that as well but this is just a jon boat

if they work for Trap Setter I am sure they will work fine for me. He got me into my first catfish fishing and he catches some monsters.
