Grandson has the December deer tag in 081 if you see any goods onez , just tie it to a tree and drop me a note.
Bull hunt or cow? What units do you have ? We've hunted it several times. Haha, there's no honor in shooting a teddy elk. Pequops south of the 80. Cow tag. Fresh tracks on the ground, and of course they're so big it's probably a massive bull. Scat, found a spring not marked on maps. A box canyon the monster track lead into. Have a great vantage point over the gully leading into the canyon. More scouting this evening. It would be awesome to see a big bull, even if all I can do is look and drool. I can stay out here all season if I need to. I'm coming home with meat.

Good luck. Bulls were gathering cows last week in sw Colorado. You're probably a couple weeks ahead. Is that a Davis tent?
Ol dad Yes sir. On its maiden voyage.

I wish you good luck and say we heard the bulls screaming every year we've been and our hunts started on the 1st of October.

Indeed they do. I believe Davis splintered off from Colorado Tent Company. The 12x14 wall tent I bought from them in '87 is still in very good shape and has never leaked. From what I understand Davis continues this tradition of using quality canvas. Side note: I have an emergency repair kit I bring along on all canvas camps. It includes a small sheet of canvas, scissors, and a couple tubes of shoe goo. You never know.

What state are you hunting? I leave in 3 weeks for Wyoming. You've got a drive ahead of you. WY has too many elk, what a problem to have. Good luck. I heard one shot this morning but it was many miles away. Seeing lots of sign in my spot. the neighboring campers say I'm crazy, I'll have to eat it to get it out. City slickers don't know how to use the lay of the land to travel.
