The long handles didn't hang on the hook behind the door to long again this year. Just took them off at the end of June and will be putting them on when I go fishing in a short time. Lol

The summah went fast and glad fall is here and no complaints. 9 months of ice and snow and 3 months of tough sledding fits the bill for me.

I can picture a nice, fast river, plenty of pools and an angler with fly rod in hand.

I showed 34 for the low last night. We put the long handles on the tomatoes last night for fear it was going to freeze. . They are showing that the cold night for the next ten days. Most the time after it freezes my tomatoes it warm up for a month.

We had ice in the hose yesterday morning. Cold again this morning but it is supposed to be in the 80s Tuesday and Wednesday.

Last winter in many parts of Montana and elsewhere actually was very mild, guess that means we’re in for a nasty one this year.

Hotter than Hades here,Still wearing shorts.
30c last few days, creeks all dry, beaver not putting up any feed, looks to be shaping up like last year so far.
Supposed to start cooling down to single digits c at night this week, still way above normal for this time of year.
Forest fire risk extreme last week north of here.

24 earlier here , and the last several mornings. Never got above 60 yesterday. Snow in the high peaks, lovely days and bright colours coming on the trees. A few little fires in the Blaze King to take the chill off.

First magpie showed up at the house this morning. We also had termination dust on the mountain tops last Thursday.

I am looking forward to the coming season.

Always have a good reason for a little fire ....if it is a bit chilly, fine...or, one can always say, the leather gear and guns need to be kept dry, even in very low humidity areas such as mine .

Its ok to "chill" ... wink

Yep nothing better than a fire to take the chill off. Thanks Sharon.

Snowy, you know how important folks feel about keeping their leather gear dry , in winter...I have friends with strings of horses, who have a large tack shed with its own woodstove . They light that stove periodically, and especially after a day ride, when the gear, felt pads, and saddles are cold and damp from the weather.

When I've kept mine with theirs on long rides, it really is nice to walk into that shed and see all the warm, dry gear all organized on the wall racks.

I keep my Aussie saddle and gear in my cabin, it is so pretty, it serves as room decor too. And stays nice , clean and warm. No mold.

Those peeps I know really have the routine down , with plenty of firewood by their tack room.

Nice.

Can't wait for cold weather here.

Unless I'm standing in an Ozark stream/river fishing for smallies and trout, I HATE summertime !

We're finally getting a little reprieve from the furnace we've had all summer.
Tomorrow is in the mid 60's and the next 10 days is in the mid 70's.
Much better than the last 4 months have been.

Awesome pic also !
