Almost 10 years ago I had pmed Cattrax on this site as I was headed out west to do some antelope hunting. Being from Missouri, I was green to say the least. Tom gave me excellent insight and assisted me with valuable information on securing permissions and areas to hunt in the unit we had tags for - it was close to where he lived. I went with my father and we both enjoyed success harvesting our first antelope ever together. I still remember the conversations with Tom and the assistance he provided gave me great pleasure. I never shared this here as I didn't feel it my place to put undue pressure on him to assist others. This was truly a man that enjoyed helping others enjoy the outdoors and Gods creation as he was blessed to enjoy. For that, I am grateful and I pray his family begins to understand the impact he had on others - even those that may not have shared much. I will continue to pray for those that are left to grieve. Thank you Tom again.

Tom was the kind of friend that I would talk to and then it would be a year before we spoke again and we would start right back in exactly where we left off. Great guy. Very talented and a friend to everybody. He was such a giving fellow, with not only his time buy with his many talents. I'm sure going to miss Tom.

Rip Cattrax. I always enjoyed his postings on here. He seemed like a very knowledgable guy with great wit.

That's a nice photo of Tom. Thanks for the heads-up.

Tom was a heck of a photographer. I've been digging for some. Here is one I found. Tom was an artist in his own right. Built beautiful fishing rods. His wife Andi is too. She donated a gorgeous pencil drawing of an otter to coyote days auction one year. I believe monster tomm is the proud owner

JT imaybe when things settle down let Andi I sure appreciate the night I was hosted at their home last summerand Tom and went fishing the next day. I always said Tom wasn't much to fish but his wife makes the best potato salad

In 2013 I was working in Denver. That summer the Wyoming trappers association was having their convention in Riverton as posted on this site. I responded to the thread and asked how long of a drive and the best route from Denver. Tom replied promptly to my request. He then said when you get there go to John Grahams table and ask for me. After a nice chat with John I asked where's Cattrax and he said over right over there. I introduced myself to Tom and it was like we were long lost friends. He let me a complete stranger hang out with him all day talking hunting , trapping it was great. He even introduced me to all of the people at the convention as he knew everyone. Tom made my trip to Riverton a memorable one. A great guy that will be missed by all.
