Yes, for fly tying! I would save a few from the breast and back also.

Make sure to check possession laws in your state, especially if they are "wild sourced".

Jail bait unless they're mute swans and I'm not sure those are safe either

Very common in the "old days" to see a swan wing in most houses. Hanging on a string by the door. They are great for sweeping the snow off your clothes and boots as well as use as a broom in the house

I always save the left wing primary feathers for fletching off my turkeys. I never thought about it but swan feathers would be great. Probably hold up better when wet. Thought about fletching with goose feathers, but hate dark fletching. Like to see my arrows in flight

Yep!!!
My grandparents had them and goose wings to use as sweeps. I have one at the line shack in the hills to use as a hand dust broom and they work great!!!

I think you can use them yourself or give them away but just can't sell any migratory bird feathers.

Another bunch of antiquated laws

Found a cool colored feather in the yard the other day, figured out it was a great horned owl feather and not legal to have. Tossed it back out in the yard frown

I agree 100%. It's a shame to see those beautiful feathers just rot away.
