About 50 years ago, I was working at a Consolidation Coal Mine here in Pa. Consol had nine Pa mines , all UMWA mines, in what was called the Eastern Region. Once a year, the head of Eastern Region would visit each mine.

The local union had been feuding with the Superintendent and Mine Foreman shortly before the day of the visit. It was decided that the loading crew in both sections would be buck naked ( except hard hat, belt, and boots ) when the visiting delegation came to the section. Needless to say, it wasn’t well received. The company tried to take action against both crews, but couldn’t figure out how it violated the UMWA contract.

My whole army career was inappropriate, lol.
