Tom Miranda said he was able to get a hotel room today. He seems eager to come again. I haven't heard if Russ Carman will be able to attend this year.

If you attend the whole show you get a lot for what it cost. 3 meals a day, great food, and lots of it, well known trappers telling their secrets, demos day and sometimes night, the Saturday Night gift exchange, camp fire chats, there are usually some tailgaters, and lots more. I even got to meet Phil the famous groundhog a time or two. At the cabin and pavilion site there is a small pond with fencing, a couple times I attended Don had a couple live mink roaming around, I spent a lot of enjoyable time watching them. It is truly an event you don't want to miss, especially since it will be the last Mintoberfest.

I got myself a seniors' GPS.
Not only does it tell me how to get to my destination,
it tells me why I wanted to go there.

Thank you Trapper Dahlgren! Thanks to all. Just meeting guys like Nittany makes the experience great- although I don't know if there are any other guys quite like Nittany- Jim Witmer is one of a kind.

I bet Paul could sell a lot of lure if he attended. Plus his input on Beaver trapping would be a crowd pleaser.

Don, the NC Convention datei s the last Friday and Saturday of September so no conflict with the traditional Minktoberfest. The date was a conflict the year or years when your event was Minktimberfest.

The price of admission is worth it just to have the fellowship with other trappers from all over the good old USA. I wish Boco would come.

That would be entertaining especially with his northern woods lore and trapping knowledge.

I've been trying to get fossil2 (and his son) to attend, but haven't succeeded.

I'd also like to meet Wayne Derrick!

Major Boddicker was very entertaining, it would be nice if he came back for the last Minktoberfest.

We have had a great and diverse group of attendees. From Zagger and Phil Brown to Gary Schuman and Gerald Schmitt, Mark Steck, Lefty, Stackhouse, Lyga, Witmer, and even Neil Olson.

I think ( I might get his name wrong) Brian Mohn's wife attended a few years ago. Of course Candi is always there. Kelli said she might tag along this year.

Will Red O'Hearn and Mark Steck be there again? I liked the stream walk too. We split into groups and our group was hosted by Gerald Schmitt who gave us his take on how he would make set on this particular spot of creek bank. Listening to Don and hearing how and what he catches at these spots is revealing. Sometimes it seams you can have ten guys look at one spot and they all think something different.

Major Boddicker had lots of stories. I liked his one about calling lions in Africa. After dark we took a school bus with about 20 guys out into the PA countryside and made 3 or 4 stops. Major Boddicker showed us how to call and locate coyotes then count them to get a population estimate. He can really make the coyotes howl. Very educational and entertaining.

You really should try to go if you can and there is room. Not many of us from Illinois have been there but we felt at home every time we went. We were included in everything and Don's right- it's what you make of it so make it the best you can. All of the people i ever met there are willing to share. I have learned and shared there and cannot wait to again. Thanks Don. Hope to see you there Nittany.

Just passin through

Laura Gidney did a fox skinning demo last year, feet left on pelt.

There has been several couples there the years I have gone.
