No offense, but I’ve never got the point of this set up. I could do the same with two sticks and a support stand for the conibear and not worry about lugging that heavy thing in somewhere
and when the water rises 2 feet you are checking a empty trap.
YEP!!! Cricks here are up and down in water level. Places water is deep and easier to set a float and push it of from land no waders needed. I like them I check with flip flops on many times if I can drive to the spot. LOL

Actually I used to think the same thing until ya try putting 2 sticks into frozen ground in early spring-not gonna happen here. So the float is held in place by a 6 foot rebar rod that I pound through the frozen ground with a sledge hammer and it produces all spring long.I used 2 floats 3 springs ago-I now use over 20 and my my beaver numbers catch rate wise has gone up because I can set areas where I cannot normally. They are great in flat flooded out areas where its difficult to find a bank so to say. Just another very very functional tool in poor conditions for a regular 2 stick set. Numbers don't lie-just saying. Different areas provide different challenges-especially when the ground is frozen.

I actually set a fully flooded out area yesterday that there was zero place to do the 2 stick set-floats re set-we'll hopefully have beavers tomorrow
