I avgd $23 in 2023 for about 50 beavers and $22 last spring for 87 beavers. All just skint, folded, and frozen.

For deep South beaver pelts, that's not too bad.

That's Awesome

I will just eat any and toss the rest. It's not worth the drive for the few I will catch helping out friends. Seems like nothing is worth skinning.

Coyotes woke me up last night for the first time since my boys took out 3 females and one male last year. And o look today Is the 15 of October first day of K9 trapping season. maybe I should tell the boys. normally we don't trap tell late December and January

I'll be going after beaver as I do every year. All the extras (skulls, castors, oil sacs, carcasses, tails, etc) put my average into the upper $40's last year. The carcasses will have more value to me this season for the cats and spotted skunks I catch off of them.

Not a beaver trapper, but I find one or two every year for just the meat, castor, and oil. That’s a predator magnet. Even some hide will catch.

Lady in the stands stopped me at the football game Friday walking by and asked me in front of everyone to trap her beaver... I started chuckling and said sure, I got just what you need. Ours opens after Christmas. Sucks b/c it so cold snowy and icey then. Last time she asked me to stop several years ago I put a picture of a tailgate full of dead beaver in her mailbox. I guess she remembered. My local buyer closed up shop and retired on me so I am going to have to figure out what the rest of you guys do with it now. I've been spoiled and have just thrown carcasses on the floor on the same day as getting them my whole life. I guess things aren't really like that anymore are they.

Pound for pound heavy medium to small winter beaver will produce as much or more felt as the larger sizes

At least that is what I been told.

Shearing beaver should have a good market yet. Probably take some leg work to find ut

I doubt you will ever get that out of gfw, its their way to disappoint people when they show up and see lower prices then expected but you better check the average thats most important then just a top price!!!

At least you're man enough to admit it. grin Carry on Swamp Wolf and pile up some of those plews!!

I'm curious how fast the South Dakota otter quota gets filled? The last couple of years its been about a week to 9 days. However one of the main otter rivers is at near record fall lows so we'll see. Maybe by Election Day this year wink

I seen one of your receipts last season and you killed it with your southern beaver. I think $20USD is dang good for green beaver.

He uses everything. Last spring I was selling the carcasses for $15CAD, some of the bigger skulls in the raw for $10 (buyers having proper permits), castor & oil in the freezer, tails $2-5CAD a piece, then the put up fur on top. Livers I freeze for bait.
Right now I’m tacking on $60 on top of every beaver doing ADC. The only beaver trapping I’m doing so far this fall is for RMs or Mb Infrastructure. A blanket could bring in $130+CAD for me right now.
