Looking for something with meat as a first ingredient, and good value.

can't help you stuff my wife has been feeding is pretty high and only 25lb bags. I off set it during deer season eith trim and scraps when processing.

I feel like Purina ONE is probably as high quality as you can get for a mid to high grade dog food that is also nutrient-dense.

Of course a more nutrient dense food will have less fillers so they eat and poop less so you don’t actually have to buy as often..

Used to feed my hounds beaver to help on the feed bill. They did real well on them. Plenty of energy and they really liked it. ate the whole carcass except skull and some backbone. A big carcass would last one several days.

this is what we have been feeding. My daughter thinks it's the best stuff beside feeding raw. I don't know have not looked into it.


Edit; I knew it was high but just asked my wife what it cost and she said $50 for 25 lb. Wow that's 200 a month! I'm not sure I'd it's all that great. much more and I can feed the ground beef.

Diamond is probably going to best meet those parameters.

I always liked the idea of using the catch as dog food. My buddies friend has a dog that feasts on white tail
and possum.. (his yard looks like Halloween all year round lol )

If u gut and boil a coon your dog will love it. Coon is pretty cheap.

I feed k-9 rage 24-20 50lb bag is 27.00 a bag dogs do great on it and solid stools.

I have hauled commodities into most brands. Never saw one that wasn't spotless or tested samples of the load before you could dump in the pit. I cant say that about many of the places making cattle supplements. Especially range cubes.

Another thing several brands are made at the same plant. Just different bags. IAMS and Purina dont do that. Neither does diamond.

I gotta work 7 days a week to feed my self....no peros at this time

Diamond’s original plant is in Meta MO which is about 20 miles from my home. Local guys used to be able to buy in bulk or heavy discount. And when I ran a pack of 8-10 coyote hound I fed a lot of it. Very good.

A local guy started Black Gold. I was one of the first to use and it was equally good. He has since sold the brand so cannot comment.

I currently have one Lab and feed him the Sam’s brand. It’s likee $35 for 25 lbs. he does well on it.
