To my North Traplines today.
Scoped out the country set a few beaver traps cleared some trail,and bagged a few grouse for supper
Seen 9 grouse shot 3,good supper.

Bout 3 to 1 ruffed.
Spruce grouse have been scarce last two or three years but they are coming back it looks like.
Shot two ruffs for me and a spruce for the wife-she doesnt like the white ones.

No havent gone that far in,just starting some beaver removal on the trail in.Far end of the line is inaccessable before freeze up because of water crossings

Its a lot easier to get around in this country after the hard freeze and some snow-thats when the real trapping starts.
Used to be able to count on a good freeze in mid november,and it would stay that way.
Not anymore though.Later freeze and cant count on it not rotting away once or twice before it gets safe.
