Guessing MANY 1000s of $$ of fur has traversed that bridge over the years.

Yea,old Guy was trapping that area long before I got my line up there just north of his line. He liked snaring lynx and was good at it. Guy was one of my mentors in the trade,I helped him out when he got older but still wanted to be out in the bush I got a couple old pics of Guy somewhere.

Looking good! Got some marten boxes out but haven’t really bothered the beaver yet as it’s still a little warm here. Letting that fur prime up before I start putting a dent in the population. Beaver are looking real good now here.I got lots of miles of trail with beaver on this trapline and another line closer to home, not to mention all the beaver in the interior. No matter when I start there are always plenty of beaver to trap all season long. There is a buddy of mine who has a camp on a lake that uses the first few KM of the logging road.He has a small backhoe that he wants to use to open a couple culverts so for him to get permission from MNR to do that the beaver have to be removed first. The deep water on the road becomes a problem for both of us at freeze up time for a couple weeks. At first you can break thru the ice but then it gets too thick to do that and it is not strong enough to drive over. The solution is to drop the water just before freeze up. I told him he will be good to go after the 24th.I will have those beaver removed by then.

Yea the bush is pretty fragrant this time of year with all the leaves down. The tamarack needles will be falling soon, they totally carpet the ground and the water.
