No cameras for me but then I hunt meat, not horns.

I run cameras for Fun. Killed a couple hundred deer without them and still could. Gotta ask why the question though. Apparently you like looking at deer cam pics?

I did the 30 camera ( and fancy high $ camo... just about every scent and smell they marketed... and gadgets too) thing and am kinda going back to the belief it makes a better hunter and more rewarding feeling if I don't use them for "getting the monster"!! I gave up rifle hunting deer long ago when I discovered that you wait all year for opening day and 10 minutes after sun up you took a nice buck from 400 yards away. Now they are shooting from 400...500...6 7 or even 800 yds . Either direction that's a lot of ground covered. I'd rather try to outsmart the deer and get within 20 - 40 yds. Way more rewarding. That's just my opinion.. Had to see it for myself. I had some older hunters try to tell me when I was young everything I just wrote about. Didn't want to listen. Now I just hope the young'uns see it for themselves someday !! I still run cameras.... with the anticipation of something unique showing up... not trying to pattern a "MONSTER"!

I dont even own one. Hunt the same way I trap. Look for sign to see whats going on. Read the habitat. Play the wind. Never saw a need for one.

I’ve never owned a trail cam. One of my daughters bought me one for a Christmas present last year. It’s still in the box.
Eh...wot?

I dont think they are cheating. Just dont need one. I doubt the majority of folks on this site need one. IF I do buy one it will be for checking critter reactions to scents.

If a guys has a honey hole that he hunts he would probably not need one if he was limited to those places if a guys had several options they make more sense then. I enjoy the pics I get it’s stuff you would never see if the cams did not pick it up. It takes thousands of photos to get a few quality photos from trail cams. A thousand photos of a weed that grew up in front of your camera still needs attention when you pull the chip.
The last PC I had built was set up just for trail cam use a standard PC would be overwhelmed with that much data from 10 cameras and thousands of photos. I don’t think that I’ve ever caught any more critters or shot anything more by using them because they are a novelty because I’m hunting those spots based on many factors mostly I’m playing the wind or not wanting to burn out an area by over hunting it.
It does give a guy incentive to get out of bed day after day to go hunt but it’s cheap entertainment nothing more my cameras go out in the fall and I pull them in the spring places I can’t go at times but I still get great pics. I’d say I see way more on camera than I’ve ever caught or bagged .
